Hi, I’m Becky and I’m the owner of Mini Magoos Cheshire West.
Over the past 8 years I have been working as a Primary School Teacher, and I was also lucky enough to teach abroad in Bahrain.
In May 2022, after a few years of infertility, we welcomed our little boy, Lucas. I instantly knew I wanted to enjoy as much time with Lucas as possible, but any career move had to be the right one.
When on maternity leave, we joined Mini Magoos: Sensory Play, and the moment Basement Jaxx started playing, whilst Lucas enjoyed some tummy time, I knew I had discovered something special. Each week I looked forward to going to Mini Magoos, Lucas loved seeing our class leader and the environment was always so welcoming.
Once I knew it was possible to become a franchise holder and run my own Mini Magoos sessions, I snatched the opportunity as I wanted other families to be able to experience the fun of Mini Magoos. I can’t wait to use all my teaching knowledge and experience to develop a class for your baby, whilst using my creativity to make it a fun experience for our grown-ups too.
I love that I am passionate about my job and I have the extra time to spend with my own family.
Your favourite song?
S Club 7 – Bring it all back
My mum bought me a CD player and this single, and I can still remember the pure joy it brought.
What do you do in your spare time?
If I’m not at home, then you’ll more than likely find me at Chester Zoo!
I love going to the theatre to watch a musical, my favourite is Hairspray.
Your spirit animal?
Butterfly – I’m very sociable and love nothing better than a good old chitter chatter. I’m also very optimistic and always focus on the positives!
What have you learned since joining Magoos?
That electrical pumps have an inflator and a deflator side! 🙂
12 Months I would have laughed if someone told me that I would be running my own business. However, nothing is impossible with hard work, a good support base (from the franchise team and family) and passion.
Any hidden talents?
The biggest challenge you have ever faced:
2022 – It was a bit of a rollercoaster year.
Two weeks after Lucas was born my dad was diagnosed with Leukaemia, and then four weeks later my husband’s work took him 3 hours from home Monday to Friday. At times I felt like I was spinning plates, but it also taught me how strong I am and how precious time is.
What do you enjoy most about running your classes?
I absolutely love the chats and getting to know you and your little one! My first week of sessions felt like a group of friends had just got together for a catchup, I feel extremely fortunate that all of my families are so warm and supportive.
